Diagnosis: Crippled by Cliché
I would like to say that we
never found ourselves
trapped beneath a full moon,
so broad was its reach, so bold
was the night sky. That we never
searched for the names—
bright stars on the horizon—
planets afar, Venus, Mars,
for certain. We never
let the moonlight trick us into
holding hands as if
we weren’t, but we were
and it was.
