Northern Lights – Larry Bagnell

Northern Lights

Born from the misty tears of Venus
Veils of light unfold
Searching the heavenly spheres above
For places yet untold

Freely flickering phantoms
Of a soul that beckons home
Trembling kiss the treetops
Then burst upon the dome

As spires grow to majesty
They dance the starry skies
Foiling winter’s coldest fears
To reach celestial highs

Exploding northern splendour
Of shimmering colours bright
Sends waves of love cascading down
To heal a child’s dark night

And as they fade into the dawn
And quietly slip away
They left a gift to all they touched
When night was turned to day.
